Climbing at Boulders

Today Max, Adrian, Ben and I are going rock climbing at Boulders Climbing Gym. When you go to Boulders, it is always a good idea to go in groups of two because one person has to belay the other one so they will not fall and break something. "Belay" means using a rope to secure the climber.

At Boulders some of the walls are really hard. One some walls, parts of the climb are vertical to the ground. On these climbs strength is important but you also need to think about where you put your feet and hands. Oftentimes, the belayer will tell the climber where to put their hands and feet because they can see parts of the wall that the climber can not. There are also walls that you can climb without a harness. This is called bouldering. These walls are low and if you fall you will not get hurt. I enjoy the challenge of bouldering because you must keep climbing at all times. My friends and I are definately going to go back to Boulders soon.

Our neighborhood pool, Parkrest is hosting all city swim meet so there are a lot of people down at the pool. The weather was so hot that some kids have even been throwing up from dehydration. My mom made sure that my sister Eve drank a lot of water. Eve stayed well hydrated and was one of the top 18 swimmers in her age group so she scored points for her team. I went down to watch some of her races. Eve is a good swimmer!

My family is thinking of getting a cat soon. We use to have a cat named Marshmallow but she passed away after being with us for over 13 years and living to be more than 24. One thing that we are considering is whether to get a cat or a kitten. If we get an older cat we could be sure that Ribsy, our dog, wouldn't bother them after a quick "wap" on the nose because that would probably be the end of that. But a kitten could also get used to Ribsy. I would like to get a kitten but I know that there are a lot of older cats out there that need homes. So I think that we should maybe get a cat around one year old and so does my dad. My mom would like to get a kitten. We will be getting our new pet after we get back from our vacation to the Boundary Waters.

My friend max and I are designing a game over the summer. We are using a program called Game Maker that was recommended to us for our first game. Making games takes a lot of detail. All of the coding have to be very precise or the game will not work. We are making a two dimensional game. A two dimensional game normally has one character that you control and the screen moves as the character does. We are making this kind of a game because it is a lot easier to do then a three dimensional game. Max and I are having a great time making this game.

When it is hot outside I like to go for a bike ride to dairy queen to get some cookie dough ice cream the wind going through my hair cools me off. When it is humid i like to go to the pool. So I can't tell that it is humid. When it is both I stay inside because getting to the pool is to much of a pain and my bike does not have a AC. instead I just stay at home. A lot of the time i stay in the basement because cold air goes down.

I went to the fireworks show on the forth of July. I do not really like fireworks but i went anyway because my family was going. It was loud. It was ear piercing. but it was pritty. Man this is a bad blog!

I recently went to GA. me and four of my friend bought 5 12 packs of soda and drank it all in 36 hours. That was fun but a lot of interesting stuff happened there to. I went to a conference about evil and one thing that they did was talk about how they thought that evil was the absents of love. I think that i agree with them on that. There were also some confines about ethical eating. One thing that they said that you should do is know the farm that your meat came from. that way it will always be local.
